For me, the start of a New Year was the perfect time to get away with my two besties. Since all three of us are starting our final semesters at University it was better to get together sooner rather than later. Our only expectations for this “Rendez-Vous“ was to relax, enjoy each other’s company, and drink LOTS of wine.
The Hotel | Thompson Toronto
After looking at a few hotels we narrowed it down to the Thompson Toronto. We didn’t have to leave once the entire stay because the hotel boasts three different restaurants and a nightclub. The swanky atmosphere of this boutique hotel fits the vibe we were going for completely.
Wine, Cheese, & Gossip
Unfortunately, the hotel does not have a spa on location, therefore, we brought the spa to our hotel room. Each of us brought our favourite hair and facemask to wear as we ate wine and cheese, and caught up on each other’s lives. I would suggest arriving in the city early so that check-in is easy and there is plenty of time to chill out in the room.
Dinner | Hibachi
The front desk nabbed us a reservation at the teppanyaki restaurant, Hibachi, located on the first floor of the hotel. The food did not particularly impress me but the Tepanyaki cooking still made the experience exciting. I highly recommend ordering some Saki Bombs if you want to finish off the meal right.
Night time | Wildflower Night Club
Nothing really marks a good time out with the girls if you haven’t spent an endless amount of time getting ready to go out. The weather was -30 degrees the night we were going out, therefore, we opted for the club in the hotel. Wildflower is the night club inside of the Thompson which can be accessed in the doors next to the front entrance of the Hotel. Since we were staying at the hotel it was easy to request guest list (added plus). We only had a few drinks here but it was still the perfect excuse to get dressed up.
The Morning After | Collette Grand Café
Collette Grand Café- I cannot praise this place enough. The design of the café is beyond gorgeous and I truly felt as if I was back in Paris. The weekend brunch had a ton of options. If you’re boujee and want an overpriced breakfast this is one place that shouldn’t be overlooked. Collette is an experience in itself. Reservations are also recommended!
