One of greatest guilty pleasures has, and will always be chocolate chip cookie dough. If you’re opposed to cookie dough then please exit out of this window and promptly unfollow any/all of my social media (kidding, not kidding). My cookie dough cravings heightened over the past summer when my Instagram feed blew up with photos of the cookie dough bar at Junked Food Co in Toronto. Unfortunately, it’s not realistic for me to travel down the 401 everytime I’m in the market for some cookie dough.
While doing my nightly scroll through Pinterest I came across a recipe for “edible” cookie dough. After doing some more digging I came up with my own healthier version of this recipe which is also vegan, gluten, and dairy free. Hopefully, this post will enable some more cookie dough lovers to indulge in this sweet treat with only a fraction of the guilt.
Recipe for Edible Cookie Dough | Vegan, Gluten, and Dairy Free
1 tablespoon of melted coconut oil
1 tablespoon of mini chocolate chips
3 tablespoons of real maple syrup
3/4 of a cup of coconut or whole wheat flour
A pinch of Pink Himalayan Salt
Combine the melted coconut oil and maple syrup in a medium-sized bowl and mix. Once the coconut oil and syrup have come together begin gradually mixing in the flour. Once the mix has reached a dough like consistency add the chocolate chips and salt. Enjoy
